Listen, Sing, Move!
a winter workshop for music teachers and conductors
Kodály Ireland is delighted to announce our winter workshop, Listen, Sing, Move! Taking place in DCU All Hallows on Sunday December 7, this afternoon is aimed at primary and post-primary teachers, conductors of youth and children’s choirs, music students and Kodály enthusiasts of all kinds.
Tutors Amy Walsh and Meadhbh Campbell will lead sessions on using the Kodály approach to enhance student engagement, build listening skills and aural awareness, and encourage freedom and creativity in classroom and rehearsal settings. With Amy, participants will explore the use of songs, games and movement across a variety of age groups, discovering how to use child-friendly repertoire to unlock musical skills, while Meadhbh will demonstrate vocal exercises, warmups and repertoire to use with children’s choirs and singing groups of any type, all with a healthy dose of singing and harmonising for participants to enjoy!
The workshop fee is €40, or just €20 for Kodály Ireland members and current participants in our online courses, who are particularly encouraged to join us in-person to sing and learn together! A special rate of €10 is available to DCU staff and students.
