Tham Pei Wen graduated from the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music (Hungary) with a Masters of Arts degree in Kodaly Music Pedagogy, with a culminating thesis on the adaptation of the Kodaly Approach for children with special needs, with a focus on children with autism. She holds a Masters in Education (gifted education) from the National Institute of Education (Singapore), and was a geography teacher in the MOE classroom for 7 years before following her passion towards the world of music.

Pei Wen’s heart for children with special needs led her to start the junior and youth choir at Pathlight school (for children with autism)  in 2012, and as a Music Curriculum specialist, she started the Kodaly Based Signature music program in Pathlight (primary) school in 2018.

Besides Pathlight school, Pei Wen started the Starlight Programme at Voices of Singapore with a colleague, where she runs a weekly online Music Making Program, catering to children with special needs.

In her talk, Pei Wen will share about her work with children with autism in Singapore - how a Kodaly based music programme is being developed in a school especially catered for children with autism, some strategies (both general and Kodaly based) used in the classroom, and how we can advocate for music to be accessible to this group of children.

**Tickets are non-refundable**

The webinar will be hosted via Zoom and all details will be sent to all registered participants 24hrs before the event.
